Description
Partition Zapper is an easy-to-use, inexpensive program that deletes all partitions from a PC hard disk drive regardless of the operating system that created them.
In many cases when downgrading the version of Microsoft Windows installed on a hard disk drive, Microsoft FDISK will be unable to delete the existing partitions on the PC hard drive. Microsoft FDISK may also be unable to delete hard drive partitions created by Linux, many partitioning utilities, and a number of viruses.
In these situations, Microsoft FDISK produces the error, Cannot delete Extended DOS Partition while logical drives exist, when attempting to delete a partition. However, upon attempting to delete logical drives, FDISK reports, No logical drives defined.
Partition Zapper removes all partitions from a PC hard drive, regardless of the operating system, utility, or virus that created them. This easy-to-use program can be run from a command prompt after booting from a boot floppy or system startup diskette (see screenshot). After deleting partitions using Partition Zapper, new partitions may be created using Microsoft FDISK, in order to create a clean slate for installing a new new operating system on the hard drive. File or disk contents can be viewed and modified in the hexadecimal editor, which supports NTFS file attribute editing. Flexible parameter settings provide you with absolute control over data recovery.
